PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS RUMOLAC™ is a dry granular
material that handles easily and mixes with all feed ingredients. RUMOLAC™
pellets extremely well and can be stacked and stored as needed. RUMOLAC™ is a calcium
salt of long chain fatty acids with preservative added. RUMOLAC™ will not melt or
freeze in extreme hot or cold conditions.
PACKAGING RUMOLAC™ is available in 50 pound multi-wall kraft bags with poly liner, bulk super sacks,
or bulk hopper trailer.
FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS For best results, RUMOLAC™
Rumen Bypass High energy Supplement should be a component of a properly balanced ration. RUMOLAC™ supplementation
at .5 to 2.0 pounds per cow per day will normally meet the increased energy needs of high producing cows, young growing cows,
and environmentally stressed cows. RUMOLAC™ should be used to replace starchy grain ingredients to
achieve high energy intake, while allowing adequate fiber intake. RUMOLAC™ should be supplemented at
a rate necessary to maximize milk production and to maintain proper body condition.
Because of its excellent handling characteristics,
RUMOLAC™ can be top dressed and/or fed via a computer feeding mechanism. Each 50 lb bag of RUMOLAC™
per ton will increase the fat level of the ration by approximately 2.0 percent.
RUMOLAC™
for milk production: · Milk yield is
increased 4-6% when protected fatty acids are fed in a diet, even when up to 12% whole cottonseed is also fed during summer
heat conditions. ·
Milk production and persistency for the entire lactation are increased by feeding protected fat high in linoleic
during early lactation. ·
Increased body condition scores may result from feeding rumen inert fat high in EFA's during stress periods
such as early lactation, high production or increased environmental temperatures.
RUMOLAC™ for reproduction efficiency: ·
Linoleic acid prevents early emboyonic death and enhances pregnancy by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase
which suppresses the endometrial secretion of the hormone PGEa. ·
Linoleic acid increases conception rate during periods of heat stress because synthesis of the hormone PGEa is increased.
BOTTOM LINE: · RUMOLAC™ is ruminally inert and delivers increased amounts of linoleic acid
to the small intestine. · RUMOLAC™
enhances milk yield and persistency for the entire lactation and may increase body condition, especially during early
lactation and heat stress. · RUMOLAC™
enhances reproductive management and fertility: reduces days to first breeding, increases conception rate, and increases
pregnancy rate. These responses are most noted during early lactation and increased heat stress.
